"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

Our First Meeting

I can't remember the first time we met but I remember very clearly the first time I saw ALB. He was on Youth Staff at Campus Crossroads (our church's Youth Ministry) and I had just started coming out. I was told by a friend of mine, who will remain annonymous, that there was a really "fine" staff guy there. Just like a young teenage girl, I was anxious to see him. BTW, that wasn't the main reason why I was there nor the reason why I continued to go. So the night I saw him, the group was playing a game kind of like sit down soccer but with a beach ball. Well, ALB and our friend Eugene were gripping the ball so hard that it popped and ended the game. That was the first time I saw him. And YES! He was "fine"!! He is and will always be the "finest" man I ever met!

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
