"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

UPDATE: "What's the point in prolonging the inevitable? We're all just one step away from here, to there..."

Praise the Lord!! Our Yard Sale was a success! We had a certain goal in mind, prayed about it and God answered our prayers! Praise God! We're one step closer to relocating!

I want to say "thanks so much" to Nana, Star, Camille & Ellen A (girl you rocked that Frozen Lemonade. You earned your swimming lessons!!). Even though it was scorchin' outside, we had fun talking, selling stuff and sippin some Frozen Lemonade & Watermelon drinks!

We'll have another one the closer we get to our moving date, so keep an eye out for more Yard Sales!!!!

***Mental Note***
Don't make deals and hold an item with another party over email. You might end up not selling that item at all! Very disapointing, especially since soooo many people who came by wanted it.

Hope to see you there!

Time for change

You may have noticed that I've made some changes to my blog layout. A new season approaches which means...time for change. I like change, it keeps things fresh.

If you're in the mood to change your blog, why not try TCBOTB? She has some super cute stuff. I'm not html savvy so I have to stick with the copy and paste codes myself. :)

Anywho...enjoy!

Musicals

I love musicals! They can be on stage or on the big screen. No matter how I view them, I'm always captivated by the music. I wish I can see more musicals on stage but tickets are so pricey! The last one my beloved and I experienced was Phantom of the Opera but that was years ago. We had an oportunity to experience it again but I turned it down. Now I wish I didn't. To be in that theatre! To feel the thunder of the orchestra in your heart! To watch and listen to the actors sing puts you right there in the middle of the story....WOW! I get shivers up my spine just thinking about it.

When our family goes on long trips one of our favorite things to do is pop in a soundtrack from one of our favorite musicals and sing along. ALB's favorite, Phantom of the Opera. Mine, well, I'm torn between Miss Saigon (even though I've never seen it), Les Miserables and (yes, I know this one isn't theatre but I still like it) Moulin Rouge. Can you tell I have a thing for tragic love stories?

If you haven't heard of any of these musicals, I've posted some here. If you're interested just click "Play" on the musical you want to listen to. Don't forget to pause the music way down below. Enjoy!

Sorry for the delay

I have so many things I want to share but so little time. I apologize for removing my latest post, for those of you who were wondering, I wanted to redo the post but ran out of time to redo it. So here we are a week and a half later and it's still not updated. But do not fear, I see more opportunities for me to sit and type coming really soon.

Until then, enjoy the new layout. Merry Christmas!

Farewell Cybershot!

What a sad, sad day! My digital camera finally bit the bullet, so to speak. I turned on the camera one day and all I see is a colorful blur. *sigh* Oh...well...no pictures for now. So don't be surprised if I ask you to take a picture for me. Now you know why.

Trash to Treasure

We're finally doing it! Yay! We're having a YARD SALE on Saturday, August 16th! Come by if you can. You never know what "treasures" you'll find.

FINALLY!

Finally I get to sit down and post about all the happenings in my life. I'll do my best to post as much detail as possible but I've got lots to catch up on. So here it goes...

"TAG!" I'm it!

One of my dear friends, Myra tagged me to reveal 6 unremarkable quirks about myself. So, now I'm it.

My Six Unremarkable Quirks...

1. I'm, what my husband calls, a "secret slob". I'm a firm believer of "there's a place for everything and everything has it's place" but when it comes to laundry and clothes, I just can't get it and keep it organized.

2. I always have to wear slippers around the house and socks when I sleep. I don't like walking around bare footed.

3. I have to close the back door of our SUV at least 3 times to ensure that it doesn't pop open when we're driving.

4. I'm slightly dyslexic, so sometimes when I read or take down numbers I have to double, triple check what it was I just read or wrote down so I don't mix the words/numbers up.

5. I gag whenever I see other people brushing their teeth. The first time I brushed my kid's teeth I gagged. I learned to just concentrate and get through it.

6. I'm accident prone. I always get hurt, especially when I'm in the kitchen.

OK...the following people consider yourself tagged, Chanette, Sharon, Acy, Erwin, Nelson, and Cindy.

Here are the rules:
  1. Link the person who tagged you.
  2. Mention the rules in your blog.
  3. Tell about six unspectacular quirks of yours.
  4. Tag six bloggers by linking them. (They shall be "it")

Have fun and Happy Tagging!

Happy Independence Day

**Ouch**

I sprained my ankle last night! :(

Too many items at the bottom of the stairs + clumsy mommy = sprained ankle.

Thankfully it's just a slight sprain!

Belated Mother's Day

My beloved gave me a gift for Mother's Day to support my latest hobby, baking cupcakes. Since he ordered it online it took sometime to get here. Today it came! Here it is...

"What is it?" Well, it's a Cupcake Courier, of course! I've been transporting my cupcakes in the foil pans with lids, that you get at the supermarket. Those worked fine until I had to bring lots, and lots of cupcakes. With the fear of having messy cupcakes, I would often frost them when I arrived to the location. With these, there's no need to fear. These are great. Here's a description from cupcakecourier.com, "The CUPCAKE COURIER is a rectangular, translucent plastic container that holds three stackable cupcake trays. Each tray has 12 deep cups to hold each cupcake secure. It has a comfortable handle, and 4 bottom latches that hold the base securely."

Yay! Thanks honey! I love you!

1...2...3...THEY'RE OUT!!

Yes family and friends, the flu bug bit us again! I'd have to say, we've been sick every month this year. ALB, ALW, MJ and I all have the flu. Surprisingly CL isn't showing signs...yet. With so many people out with the flu, the best thing to do is just to stay home and rest. OK, I'm officially keeping this family under quarantine until we get better! Please pray for us...

Again?

Yes, I did it again. I changed my template. Although the pink daisy was really pretty, there was something going on with the fonts that bugged me a bit. The words kept overlapping the boxes. I don't know why it just did.

It's ok because I was able to find this really cute one on Gisele Jaquenod's website. Supercute, huh?

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
