"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

Honoring Milagros Evangelista

As you know my grandmother (a.k.a. Nanay) celebrated her 75th birthday on July 4th. My mom planned a spectacular surprise birthday dinner for her at the Front Room (local Italian Restaurant in town). Attendees included family and friends that we haven't seen in a while.

The great-grandaughters performed a sweet little hula number. Thanks to Auntie Star here's a clip:

She was so happy that night, she couldn't stop smiling. In fact she still talks about it til this day.

Here are a few more pictures from this memorable event, enjoy.

WE LOVE YOU, NANAY!

That was a fun night and the girls did such a good job dancing. It was fun hanging out after at our house; let's hang out more! We love you guys!

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
