"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

Grandma's Birthday Dinner

We were able to finally get together with Al's family to celebrate his mom's birthday (a.k.a. "Grandma") on Friday, January 18th. Her actual birthday is January 3rd. With everyone having their own schedules it's difficult to get together like this. But I'm glad we did. We were able to see Sean (Al's youngest brother) for a little bit before he had to head off to work. We also got to catch up with the newlyweds of the family, Walter and Kristine. Grandma and Grandpa were able to spend time with their grandchildren, which they absolutely love. And Auntie Gena was right in the middle of it all. The big surprise of the night, Auntie Gena picked up the tab! With her being the youngest, we're so used to taking care of her. Now she's all grown up. Well, it was a fun night with the Boncatos. Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
