"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

When I grow up...

We were driving back from the DMV in Napa today. Here's a little conversation I had with CL:

CL: Mommy, I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Me: That's OK sweetie. One day, God will make it clear to you, what you're going to be when you grow up.

CL: What do you think I can be?

Me: Oh..let's see...a nurse, a teacher, a hairstyler...

ALW: ...maybe a Doctor.

Me: Yeah, you can even be a Doctor. But really it doesn't matter what you do when you grow up. All that Mommy and Daddy want for you is to grow up loving God and serving Him.

CL: Like how you serve Daddy when you watch him play video games?

LOL!!!! Is that what it's called?

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
