"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

The Season is Upon Us!

Every summer, for the past 26 years, our church's Youth Ministry holds a volleyball outreach tournament.  My beloved and I both had the priviledge to participate as students many moons ago.  The last 18 years (18 for him, 14 for me) we've had the honor to serve as volleyball coaches, teaching our team...1..2..3..CROSSCOURT!!!...the "way of the volleyball" but most importantly, we're able to build relationships with our team with the hopes of leading them to Christ.

This morning was, what I considered, the kick off of our volleyball season.  At 8:30 am (Yes, Saturday morning!) we had our annual Coaches Clinc.  My beloved was able to lead the coaches with drills, rotations, skills and what nots.

BTW, great job hon!

It was a cold, blistering morning.  But we were determined to get through the weather in order that we, as a staff, would be excellent in the duty that God has called us to do.  I'm excited for the summer!  Really excited to see God work through the lives of our students (and through us!).

Here's to another year of CBC V-ball!  SERVES UP!

Me too, B! I'm really, really excited to see God work this summer! I'm so happy that you'll be there serving with us!

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
