"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts."
~Charles Spurgeon

Praise You in the Storm

I hope this song encourages you to lift your eyes unto the Lord during the storms in your life.

"...Thus says the Lord...Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine." (Isaiah 43:1)

"I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121: 1-2)

Thanks for sharing this. I'm amazed and ashamed at how disconnected I feel from the war in Iraq. I so need to be reminded of it. Then again, there is the other reality that we as Christians are always at war spiritually. This, too, is something I can forget at times. Thanks for stirring up with the song and verses!

Psalm 116: 1-9

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.

Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.

The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"

The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living.
